    Bao Xishun, the world's tallest man, saved the lives of two dolphins in north eastern China, by reaching down their throats to take plastic out of their stomach.

    The aquarium in Fushun, Liaoning Province called in Bao after the dolphins swallowed plastic in their pool. Attempts to remove the plastic using surgical instruments failed, as the dolphins stomachs contracted in response to the instruments.

    So, naturally, they called in herdsman Bao - at 7ft 8.95in, the tallest man in the world – from Inner Mongolia. He was able to reach down into the dolphins' stomachs, using his nearly 42in-long arms, and get the plastic out.

    Why the dolphins stomachs didn't contract when a giant man stuck his hand down their throats wasn't immediately clear.

    Due metri e trentasei contro 73 centimetri: l'uomo più alto del mondo, He Pingping, incontra il suo opposto, Bao Xishun. I due si guardano negli occhi un po' perplessi e si stringono cortesemente la mano, posando per i fotografi. Succede in Mongolia, dove il primato del gigante umano è già stato riconosciuto dai guinness. Ora ci sta provando anche il suo rivale, in lizza per essere certificato come il più basso del globo.
